Planning your Motorhome Journey

Before you plan the journey in our motorhome try to obtain a large scale road map. Begin by planning the journey with a 3 miles to 1 inch road map and identify points of interest along the journey. It is worth planning the first night of your journey in advance and choose somewhere close to Carefree Motorhomes if you have already had a long journey. We help plan your journey and advise on motorhome camp sites in Newark, close to town or in Sherwood Forest or the Peak District. Plan plenty of free time during your trip to take advantage and amend plans based on alternate stopovers and changes in the weather. It is always wise to plan your journey with each stopover in mind before you set-off.

Complimentary membership to the Camping and Caravan Club is offered and provides a discount on motorhome site fees and good range of campsites.

Planning Motorhome journey breaks

You should when planning your motorhome journey plan to take short breaks in your journey. Do not drive for long periods of time and if you do feel tired or drowsy take a short break in your journey, take fifteen minutes before proceeding with your journey.

Planning Motorhome an Overnight Stopover

You can plan a stopover in your journey in a Motorway service area. The heavy goods vehicle area is accesible but can be noisy at all hours. Fire regulations do not permit use of gas appliances. A cost quoted for Moto service areas, ranges from £5-£10 per night and sometimes includes breakfast vouchers. Welcome Break and Road Chef do not publish their charges.

“Wild camping” is not strictly legal as technically you should always seek the landowners permission to stay overnight but as long as you are not blocking a gateway or causing a nuisance we have stayed at some great rest areas, viewpoints or beach areas without problem.

Planning your Motorhome journey and a stopover at a Caravan Park

Most of the motorhome parks are wheelchair accessible for disabled caravanners. If you have special requirements for your journey please book ahead. We hope you enjoy your journey in one of our motorhomes.
